In the project of a new television studio in Glasgow, Maquinas, through its partner for the United Kingdom, LSI Projects, won the tender for the supply of suspension and motion systems for lighting and sceneries.
243 constitute the supply that corresponds to the order placed in our company via our British partner. 138 units are meant for lighting, 102 for sceneries and the 3 left to move cycloramas.
These equipments will be produced with S3 drum technology, with helicoidal rolling up system at 90º, and installed on the grid and under the gallery (concerning lighting hoists).
This is one of the most significant projects the Portuguese company is developing on the television sector. After the Jordan television in Amman, RTP’s Studio 5 (in Lumiar), TVI’s first Studio in Av. Berna and the Social Communication School Studios, this is an example of application of stage engineering knowledge to the television world – activity in which Maquinas has been quite successful.
